Ok, I need something new to read. Would prefer something that was either part of a series or the author has several other books of the same genre. I'm a pretty voracious reader and go through books quickly, so I like to have things lined up to read.
I'm looking for something that's probably more brain fluff than what many of you guys read. I like suspense/thriller/serial killer type stuff.
I've read all of Tami Hoag's thriller stuff, all of Lisa Gardner, all of Cody Mcfadyen, some Katia Lief, some Thomas O'Callaghan, some Tess Gerritsen (not good imo), some Tana French (too polite for murder stuff), some T R Ragan, most Harlan Coben. Ive the Hunger Games stuff and liked it, I loved Scorpio Races, and the Wool stuffs (Niaru, the new one is out, I just finished it). I've read the mortal instruments stuff and Deb Harkness' 2 books, but I'm looking for the serial killer type genre now.
I read one Patricia Cornwell, started at the first Kay Scarpetta one, and I found it kind of boring and I could easily wander away from it. If they get better, I will try another one. Anyone know if they do?
So, what/who would you suggest?

Oooh thanks RR! I'll go check it out. Have you heard of the Righteous series by Michael Wallace? It's pretty good. Murder mysteries in Mormon country. I've read the first 3 books and I just saw there's a 4th one as of last month. Yay! www.amazon.com/The-Righteous-Series-1/dp/1612182186/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1354042034&sr=8-1&keywords=the+righteousI assume you've read A Song of Ice and Fire? Divergent/Invergent? As an aside (speaking of series) Oli and I just finished watching a French TV series called Engrenages (Spiral is the English title) on Netflix instant watch. 3 seasons, about 28 episodes in all. It's a police/murder series, very dark (not for the faint of heart) and realistic and we loved it! I'd never heard of it before.

I have never read Sue Grafton. I guess I kind of assumed she would be too mainstream...lol. I'll download a sample from her though and see how I like it. Thanks Brooks!
OOh, I think I've heard of the Righteous series and wanted to look into it, but forgot the name. Thanks!
I have not read Divergent/Invergent, but I remember someone posting about them and thinking they sounded interesting.
The television show sounds great. I may steal the bf's Netflix account and watch it. I'm guessing it is subtitled?
Thanks guys. I will look up these suggestions.

How about the Outlander series? Eight books, at least 1000 pages each. It's hsitorical fiction/time travel. Once I started the series I could not stop until I had read them all- 5 months worth of just that series!

Yes it's subtitled.
Ah yes, Outlander. Totally addicting! I've already re-read all of them twice. Can't wait for the next (and last?) one!

For adrenaline reads, have you tried Lee Child's books? The Jack Reacher series are fast-paced, suspenseful, vigilante hero stuff. I think The Killing Floor is the first one in the series.

Ok, so I read the first Sue Grafton book in that series and it was pretty good. It wasn't as dark as I tend to like, but it wasn't bad at all. I'm sure I will read more of them.
I will have a look at the Outlander series. I've seen a lot of people talking about but they never peaked my interest for some reason. Maybe a sample will do the trick.
I have not read any Lee Child's, but after Tom Cruise was cast to play Jack Reacher in the movies, I pretty much lost interest in reading them..lol.
Thanks again!

I agree RR. Tom Cruise kinda ruined it for me too. I'll have to look at the Outlander series too.

I've now read 2 books by an Scottish author who won the Gold Dagger Award in the UK, Val McDermid, and they aren't too bad. They aren't for the squeamish by any means as they are a bit gorey, but the stories themselves aren't bad at all. The series I am reading is about a profiler and this series has actually been turned into a BBC television show series (Wire in The Blood, which is the 2nd book in the series). Just thought I would post about them in case anyone else had my strange addiction to serial killer books...lol.
