Saw a horse with a friend this weekend - a young QH gelding that was at a ranch specializing in "coliando" which from my crash course on YouTube I would characterize as an unbelievably brutal sport in which bulls are flipped and horses trampled. This gelding apparently isn't coliando material, though that's not for lack of trying on the part of his owner. The horse was covered with wounds - spur marks on his sides, an open wound from the insane curb chains we saw on the bridles, raw gashes across his nose. The horse was pleasant and willing under saddle despite the treatment he's had, and is a cute mover. He's not a dead head - he moves out willingly and is light and responsive - but from our short experience with him my impression is that he's sweet, quiet and gentle.

Isn't it weird what some people consider 'sport.' Glad this boy found a home.

Isn't it weird what some people consider 'sport.' Glad this boy found a home. Did he find a home? That makes me sick to think of any animals being tortured for sport. What kind of a monster finds it entertaining to see animals or anyone suffer? I just don't get it. What is happening to our world?

I'm sorry. I've been avoiding the thread.
I don't know, I don't know. I once, inadvertently, went to a 'bullfight' in France. (Sorry Niaru.) It was dreadful, quite dreadful.
I know I've told the story before. The worst thing about it was all the families picnicking in the stands. The bands playing.
We left when it dawned on us - but it has never left me. It dawned on us when the dead bull was pulled out of the arena. It was awful.
