Saw a horse with a friend this weekend - a young QH gelding that was at a ranch specializing in "coliando" which from my crash course on YouTube I would characterize as an unbelievably brutal sport in which bulls are flipped and horses trampled.
This gelding apparently isn't coliando material, though that's not for lack of trying on the part of his owner. The horse was covered with wounds - spur marks on his sides, an open wound from the insane curb chains we saw on the bridles, raw gashes across his nose.
The horse was pleasant and willing under saddle despite the treatment he's had, and is a cute mover. He's not a dead head - he moves out willingly and is light and responsive - but from our short experience with him my impression is that he's sweet, quiet and gentle.
