Anyone read/watch this ? I have sort of been watching it on PBS/BBC. Brian doesn't like it so kinda of hard to follow. I am thinking of getting it on DVD so I can watch while his at work. I love Maggie Smith.

Have seen all of season one. Waiting for the next season on DVD.
I LOVE Downton Abbey, especially because Maggie Smith's character is so lovably hateful. What is Brian's problem, anyway!

I believe you can watch episodes online at PBS so you would not need to wait for the DVD unless you want all the extras.

Oh yes, been watching it and loving it!
We watched Season 1 on Netflix instant watch.
Was watching the new episodes on Sunday night on PBS, but was last Sunday's the last one for this season? Ack! When does the next season start?
I've heard rumors of Shirley McLaine as Cora's mother....butting heads with the Dowager....hehehe

Oh Bara you have to watch it. You will love it. Maggie Smith is a riot!! You will probably recognize all the other actors, who were all unknown to me before I started watching.
And those period dresses, wow.
There's even a foxhunt scene in one episode!
You'll probably want to slap Mary a few times, in the beginning....

I found out that they only play the episodes for a few months, so season one is no longer playing on the PBS.org site  Amazon has the 1st season for just $16 and the second for a few more. I thing I will go ahead and order them. |
