 Ok Otto has been home for a little over 3 weeks , time to post a progress report. First the good news, Otto has 2 very perfect leads and a left to right auto change can you believe it ! He is gaining weight , He has too, to fill out my 50" girth. I refuse to have a hunter that isn't pleasantly plump. He is extremely Brave and unconcerned as long as there is another horse going first, Definatley the follower type wants to make sure the other horse doesn't get eaten by the green doors before he goes by. He has learned to eat carrots but does not yet understand apples. He now has a turnout friend an is getting along fine. he has gone over a couple crosspoles but had to test them first , I think he'll do just fine he is just little hesitant but not totally opposed to the idea. His main rider is a 13 year old who is getting along great with him and he loves hugs . The not so good news is his feet were a mess and the blacksmith has had to do some corrective shoeing which will change the way he moves for a while. He is confused about why his feet feel different. All in all I think he's a happy horse His hind leg swelling has gone down and since he is sound I doubt I'll Xray it . It seems to be an old kick that had not gotten taken care of properly. When I get pics I'll post them .

That's great! Sounds like a happy horse who's still working on his self-confidence a little. Keep up the great work, and yes, pictures when you can get them, please!

Sounds like he's a real winner! Keep posting the updates. Tell Otto that Cosette says HI! I'm sure they'll be seeing each other at the Lake Effects shows this summer.  Cosette says she'll try not to beat him in the hacks.  |

Is this Otto as in "Otto White Socks"? If so, glad to get an update (I saw him at FP). If not, well, it's always neat to hear about how OTTB's are doing in their new homes. ;D

He is doing great, He likes the life of an aspiring Hunter and he will love following Cosettes tail in the hacks ;D We still have not come up with a proper show name although I really like Cinderfella He kinda reminds me of the neglected step child . Oh yes and he gave us the most perfect left to rigt flying change again on saturday just hit the corner and Voila ! I was so excited I was doing my little happy dance and he just looked at me like I was nuts.  So did Katie the change was so smooth she didn'teven feel it  GD |
