smoothie? I got a personal blender/smoothie maker, and have been drinking smoothies 3-4 times a day, and eating a healthy meal once a day. II use protien powder that has low sugar, skim milk, and different fruits. I even blended oats to add to a chocolate protien and peanutbutter smoothie. Just looking for different ideas. I have chocolate, vanilla , and fruit punch protien powder to make all kinds of variations. Has anyone used veggies? I saw a recipe for a spinach smoothie, but I'm on the fence if it sounds good or disgusting!!!

Adding oats is a great idea! The other morning I didn't have a banana frozen & ready to add and that would have been perfect.
Veggies can be awesome in drinks. I have a Jack La Lane juicer and it came with lots of veggie recipes. Of course, I like a carrot/apple mix. Sugar sugar sugar ;D

Thanks Ad, I think I just start going down the list.
I did make the spinach smoothie, and is was VERY good. Green, but good!!!lol This may sound gross, but adding low fat cottage cheese, make a really creamy smoothie!!! Yesterday I made a pumpkin pie smoothie. I froze scoops of canned pumpkin. So I added 1/4 cup pumkin, vanilla protein powder, no sugar added apple sauce, frozen banana, and cinnamon. VERY VERY good!!! Would have been better with a grahm cracker, but I can't even keep those in the house, cause I would eat the whole box!!!!!
So the smoothies combined with increased water in take, I have lost 5 lbs since Christmas! Plus for some reason the smoothies kill my cravings for carbs, and sweets!!!

Sounds like good food! Watch out for the sodium content in cottage cheese, though. Some brands are super salty. Ick!

I have to report that I love smoothies. Since starting drinking these protien smoothies, I have reduced my fat to 19%. My weight hasn't gone down much, but my fat has, and I feel great. Watermelon makes a awesome smoothie!!!

o.k. you are inspiring me! I just bought some cottage cheese and would never have thought of adding it. Great idea! Also love the pumpkin pie smoothie. There are times I crave french fries and have soothed the beast with a potato and catchup.
