I was inspired by the heart and beauty I saw in the lower levels this year. Competing in pouring rain and under blazing 100 degree sun these riders made me cheer with each click of my shutter. The play of light, colors, and expressive riders and horses absorbed me into each ride. They showed that passion for the sport and the horse’s partnership with its rider are the equalizers no matter the level. That passion and connection is what I felt as I photographed. Best of luck to all who aspire at any level in an equestrian passion for the year 2012!
