I dont think his feet have been done in forever aside from when I gave him a lil trim durring the fall, just filled them down a bit. He does wear them down on his own some but they are still not that great. His heels are long and they are splayed out a bit on the sides. I have no idea how he is for the farrier since I havent ever seen him done but since he is ok with me I guess he will be fine. Im a lil worried about him getting sore thou after from having his feet held up so long and from the trimming. I was thinking to just have the farrier do a light trim for now and next time do some more..what do you think? I dont want him to get uncomfy or sore sincehe has a lot of arthritis in his legs.

Tina, are you going to be able to take him with you when you move Tango? I sure hope so. He will be lost without her. Are you still going to see the Standardbred this weekend? He looks cute. He may be a nice addition.

Ask the farrier! I would guess he would do just a light trim and start shaping his feet to where they need to be.

Lynne, I am praying to be able to take my old guy, it will kill me to leave him behind. I am going to see Dakotoa either sunday or next week with a friend, there is just something about him.
Shannon, I asked the farrier but he isnt really sure with my old guy being so old and not having his feet done in so long. He said we will just do a light trim and see how he is with that.....

I'd do a light trim too - gives their muscles and ligaments time to adjust.
