I need clothes for my new pony girl! She's too little for any of my TB or WB clothes! My youngsters all wear a size larger than they measure (i.e. 76" = 78" blanket) probably b/c the neck hole is on the smallest hole. Soooo...she's already well filled out (maybe a bit on the squishy side ) She's 69" - I think I'm looking for: 72" medium weight turnout blanket - got a Schneiders! 70" turnout sheet she's totally swimming in my 75".... Thanks!!

Thanks - she's actually in a new 70" Schneiders medium and on the last holes... the length is a teensy bit long, it is the neck hole that is too big.
That said - what's your return policy? If it doesn't fit in the neck and her little shoulders stick out, I'll need to return it!

Well, sure you could return it, but that's awfully expensive. We could probably figure out if the cut of the blankets I sell (EOUS/Equisupplies) work better and if you actually need a size down.

ok - i'll measure from root of mane to head of tail.
ummm...maybe from root of mane to midchest along the top of the blanket???
with the scneiders - i should have gotten the next smaller size...it is on the smallest neck hole and I could use another hole or two
Any other ideas?
SMay is sending me one to try, too!

Okay - I see the problem now. ;D Measure her from the MIDDLE/center of the chest AROUND the side to the MIDDLE of the tail with the tape measurer (or string) flat against her sides. That also coincidently is close to what a blanket measures flat. ok - i'll measure from root of mane to head of tail. ummm...maybe from root of mane to midchest along the top of the blanket??? with the scneiders - i should have gotten the next smaller size...it is on the smallest neck hole and I could use another hole or two Any other ideas? Here's a good site: www.crazyhorsetack.com/blanmeas.htmlThey, like many instructions, measure to the edge of the tail, but if your horse is chunky go to the larger measurement (which works for my chunky monkeys). All blankets are made in increments of 2 or 3 inches so you also have that to play with. Go larger if horse is big around and deep bodied, go with smaller sizes if horse is slender. For what it's worth - depending on the cut of the blanket, most horses can go up or down a size. You just have to assess YOUR horse (pony) and if they have any issues or conformation things going on.

haha - no, I know how to measure a horse for a blanket! Promise ;D She's 69" from mid chest to edge of the tail.
The problem is she's like trying to fit a youngster...her little shoulders poke out of the neck hole!
She's proportioned like a horse (or maybe a foal), rather than a pony - rather narrow in the shoulders across the chest.

;D Jokes on me!~~~ You wouldn't believe how many different ways people DO measure - in this biz, I've seen a few. A higher cut neck would probably help. These EOUS turnouts I'm selling are made like that. This is the link for the $50 one (I've got it in Black w/Grey or Blue 66 & 69 - this runs big/long drop): www.shopatron.com/products/productdetail/BANBRIDGE/part_number=E-R954%20CLOSEOUT/754.0.1.1.11406.26896.0.0.0?pp=8&Or have this Cherry - SOLD haha - no, I know how to measure a horse for a blanket!
