of COURSE I'd have to run out and buy this book as soon as I noticed it ( saw a post on FB). This is the story of Snowman, the horse of unknown heritage that was saved from the meat pen at New Holland in the 1950s by Dutch immigrant Harry deLeyer. ..and went on to become a champion show jumper winning the National Horse Show at Madison Square Garden in 1958. I'm only half way into it, but it's very nicely written and extremely detailed account of a story that hits home for many of us considering it took place at locations we talk about all the time. And talks about famous riders we all know, when they were in their youth such as George Morris, Bill Steinkraus, Frank Chapot, etc... Very cool book! Get it!
