Our whole farm has broken out in hives, Stetson has it the worst of anyone on the farm, but Mandi has some too. Our old barn up the road is seeing it also as are some of the other local barns. Anyone else seeing this? Any ideas besides cold hosing? They don't seem to be bothered by them at this point. They first showed up on Thursday. Stetson has been stalled since then due to a lost shoe but they still haven't gone down.

Are they on pasture board? IME sometimes being out in the rain a lot can cause hives. Call your vet and see what they recommend. I know Dex works wonders for Boy.

I'm across the country but have had a heck of a time with Chaos and hives this year. Apple Cider Vinegar baths have helped calm his (I dilute a cup of vinegar in a gallon of water and rinse him with it, as well as spraying him with Listerine.....the original green kind.

Lots of hives up here too. The very wet Spring just made all kinds of plants and bugs go gangbusters this year. We also had a scourge of hay mites in the area as well earlier in the summer and that was no fun. Vinegar baths help, or a shot of dex if they are really miserable.

Thanks! I will try the vinegar bath first and see how it goes since they don't seem bothered by them.
