PJ is a 6yr old, 16.1 hand TB gelding. He was retired form racing back in November of last year. He spent many months just hanging around and then was started as a pony horse at the racetrack. He was green at his new job but very level headed and quiet. He has also been trail ridden by his previous owner. PJ has been turned out since April of this year and is ready to start a new job. He arrived here at my farm about a week ago. He is sound and clean legged. He does have a clubbed foot that does not appear to hinder him in any way. He just requires front shoes or he gets foot sore. He had a mishap in the pasture at his previous owner's farm, cutting a hind shin that required some stitches. This is well on the mend and will leave a scar but he is also sound on it. PJ has a wonderful disposition. He is turned out on 13 acres with 5 other horses in a mixed herd and is doing fabulous! This horse is your diamond in the rough! He has a big, expressive trot and a rocking horse type of canter. Look here eventers and dressage peeps! Riding pictures will be available after 8/22 Located in Lisbon, OH 44432 $1k

Now THAT is a fancy pony. Hope he finds a special home. Any problems with jumping a horse with a clubbed foot? Does he need special shoes or just a regular keg shoe?

Inga, hopefully not. I used to ride a gelding with a clubbed foot (it was do is a rather large low bow) and jumped him without issues. He was also barefoot. PJ is in a regular steel shoe. I've been working on his feet, painting the soles and stuff to help him out. We were supposed to have a riding session today but my rider had to cancel.
