Just started this new book by one of my favorite op-ed guys. I don't really know what it is about yet, but the first chapter has me laughing out loud. Those people are my in-laws! I'm sure of it! ;D

Picked it up again last night during an epic bout of insomnia. Interesting stuff. It's about how we learn and think and how our thoughts and responses and relationships are driven by forces other than we might imagine. Some interesting, but slightly biased, observations about culture. I can't help wondering about the author's own background and what parts of his life might be reflected in the scenarios he describes.
Filly, I wonder what you'd think of this book from your perspective as a teacher.

Thanks for the review Ad! I'll add it to my Library list.
I'm in the middle of The Red Tent, that a friend let me borrow. Good read!

I remember reading the Red Tent...good storytelling, right?
I finished The Social Animal last night, and it made me cry, but I've been weepy this week anyway, so that can't be my Real Review! Very interesting, but I wonder if Brooks can even imagine what life is like for us regular folks. I think he probably can't even imagine what it's like to not be smarter than everyone else in the room. Yeah. I hate him.
