Fancyhorse, I am so sad I'm just now reading your thread here. I know that a lot of times when a section of proud fresh is surgically removed it will grow back sometimes two-fold. The most amazing healing of proud flesh I have experienced is mixing a concoction consisting of: Wonderdust, Furazone Ointment and Cut-Heal liquid. Mixed equal portions of each and applied it liberally twice daily with no wrapping.

I went ahead and had the vet remove all of the proud flesh and now its pressure bandaged. We are hoping it doesn't grow back and that is the purpose of the pressure bandage and some cream she gave me!

Good Luck!
Panda got a cut on her frog and it grew this HUGE tumor - had it cut off and sent to Cornell and it was proud flesh!!
Vets said the BEST thing for proud flesh is PRESSURE.
We also used a cortisone cream (prescription) to keep it from growing out of control again.
Took 3mths, but the foot is absolutely normal and filled in with normal frog now!
Good luck - that's an ugly boo-boo!

I had the vet out and cut it all out, the cut is now a third of the size, put some cream vet gave me and pressure bandaged it, its almost fully healed and looks great!
