I've invited Central Virginia Horse Rescue to this forum as she has some OTTBs to place and I hope she does join. In the meantime she is looking to place a lovely, 7 year old, 16.2 hh, chestnut gelding named Ready Smile (great show name ) : www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=172169089474622&set=a.142826235742241.20156.134034156621449I've seen this boy and he is gorgeous. Lovely, lovely mover and beautiful face. He's sound on an old bow and would probably make a wonderful dressage horse. She also has a sweet mare named Groovy Heart: Contact Info: Website: www.centralvahorserescue.comCompany email: rescue@centralvahorserescue.com Call 434-447-4948 389 Boydton Plank Road Brodnax, VA 23920 Mission:Central Virginia Horse Rescue is located in south central Virginia and is dedicated to the care and rehabilitation of unwanted, abused and neglected horses. Thanks, Julia. I used to be a member of this forum and I don't know why I didn't think of posting the kids here. Both of them are sound and just need someone to ride them more than I am able.

Ready Smile is actually 8 (2002) almost 9 in Jan. He was owned by EMO Stables and his trainer his whole career is someone I know from galloping. This horse has been well cared for I'd bet. I could probably ask around if anyone was interested, I bet I've seen this horse before (when he was in training and running) and know someone who knows about him, as far as his racing career went.
Just curious, how did he end up at a rescue? Did any of his connections know? I hope he finds a very nice home, I don't doubt he is one nice horse.

I think he may have ended up at Camelot but I'm not sure. CVHR will update when she gets a chance.

It's funny how you get things stuck in your mind. He was advertised at Camelot as 7 and I just never did the math when I looked up his tattoo. Yes, he is a really nice boy and it's obvious that he has been well cared for.
He was in the Camelot feedlot when one of our supporters purchased him and then donated him to the rescue. I contacted Emo and the owner told me "He was given away in good faith."

Do you have any idea who he was given to? The more I thought about this horse last night the more I realized I have seen him before.
I'm sorry he ended up at Camelot, and really hope he finds a great home. I'd bet he knows a whole lot more then the average OTTB on the flat as well.

Just wanted to update you'all that Ready had his tendon ultrasounded a couple of days ago and the vet cleared him completely, even for jumping, with the proviso that he be brought back slowly. His adoption fee is only $250 and this boy would get noticed in the show ring. He is a big, beautiful boy and a fabulous mover.

Thank you, Julia for updating this!! I have a hard time keeping up with it all. Ready is a lovely boy and deserves a second career.

Einstein, I don't know who he was given to. Mr. Oare would not speak with me on the phone but his secretary said Mr. Oare said to tell you "He was given away in good faith". It sounded like she was reading it.
They also told me that he had a suspensory injury which apparently was not true or if true must have been very very mild as the vet could find NO evidence of it. At that point in time, he had not been surrendered to the rescue and I was not looking for sponsors or support for him.

Ready is in the process of being adopted by a girl that boards at Hilltop Farm. His 30 day trial is almost up and we should be getting a final decision in the next few days. From everything I have heard, Sarah and Marie are both delighted with him.
