October Sky

I just finished reading this fantastic book. I read it in two days and couldn't put it down. A beautiful, well written true story about young boys living in West Virginia coal mining town who begin building rockets during the Sputnik era. I saw the movie many years ago and had never read the book. It's fabulous, it's feel good and left me wanting to revisit my childhood days when life was so much simplier.

I've seen the movie, but have never read the book. By the way, the book was originally titled Rocket Boys, but the movie was called October Sky, so then the title of the book was changed. We just talked about that in our cataloging class last month!
