Wow! She is a fancy little girl, isn't she? Some kid or smaller person is going to be quite lucky to get her.

She's super cute in person. I didn't have my good camera with me that day, just my cell phone. So the pics really don't do her justice. I think she'll hold a longer leg too because she isn't narrow at all. I've always liked this mare (he's been telling me about her for months) and couldn't wait until he gave me the go ahead to list her. As soon as I can get the CANTER site to work properly for me (having computer issues) she'll be listed there.

Beautiful markings on her! Looks to be rabicano and sabino. Plus dapples! Plus she's cute! Ack! She should get snapped up pretty quickly.

elizabeth, yes she is! She has roaning throughout her coat and white at the top of her tail too. I'm just now listing her on CANTER because my computer has been on the fritz and didn't like their website.....hopefully someone will snatch her up soon!

jenarby, I am just curious about her build. Like it often happens, she looks downhill in one picture and uphill in the other. What was your feeling about her? How would you describe her movement?

Well, if we are speaking elbow to stifle then yes, she is downhill. But many, many TBs are. She is not butt high....if that helps? I took these pictures on my cell phone because I didn't know the trainer was going to ask me to look at her that day. What I remember about seeing her in person was that she looked really athletic and well balanced. In one picture though, it makes her neck look really thick at the base and I don't remember that in person. I'll have to go back and see her trot again. I just remember her being sound and cute but couldn't tell you if she's hunter-y or more dressage-y because it has been a while....

I wish shipping wasn't so much or we would be bringing her home to Florida!

How much are the quotes you have gotten? I have a few contacts that run north/south and may be able to get a better deal.

We've gotten quotes of $1500 and $1750 so far, but they were for two horses at different locations (one at Leighton Farm). I just submitted a new quote request this morning for just this mare on Travelinghorse and with Brookledge. If you have additional contacts, that would be great. We're really interested in her! Our zip code is 32053 if that helps and we're 5 minutes off of I75.

Try calling Kelly Ritchey (it's a guy) at 330--383-1636. He is a family friend who lives in FL. I've also used Tapps a ton of times and they are great. Their number is 859-873-5474. Ask for Lynn. I can get a hold of a few racetrack people too for quotes. They'll be heading down to Calder for the winter. The quote you got seems pretty ridiculous. Considering you are literally just inside the FL border and right off the highway......

Well we found a shipper that would bring her down for $500, called the trainer and said we wanted her, but she's in the 6th race at Beulah Park on Wednesday and he wanted to wait until Wednesday night to discuss her sale further. Hope she makes it through the race and doesn't get claimed!
This will be her 52'nd start. She has definitely earned her retirement.

Good Luck fox, I hope it all works out for you and for her. You are right, it is time for her to retire.
