Just finished and loved it. Hard to believe how venal people were in the south in the 60's. But it seems a fair portrayal with not all the white people as evil and not all the black people as saints. At times tragic, funny, sad but inspiring in the way it shows how ordinary people can triumph.

I read it last year and loved it too, then gave it away to/ bought it for people who loved it as well.
