I read Little Bee, by Chris Cleave, this weekend. I'm always interested when a man writes from a woman's perspective--you know....will he get it right? Of course I'm less suspicious of women narrating male characters, so you can call that a double standard. Anyway, in this novel, Cleave gives us two narrators, both women, and he doesn't quite persuade me. I like the title character a lot, and find her fascinating. The other voice, Sarah, irritates me, and while I can believe that someone might think and act as she does, I don't trust or respect her, and for good reasons, I think you'd agree! But I stayed awake half the night finishing the book. Anyway, I suspect Mr. Cleave has loved a faithless woman at some point in his life, and he's getting back at her in this book. Has anyone else read it?

We are reading it for book club this month and I am just about to pick it up. I will let you know what I think!
MTA: I just finished it. I liked some things about it, particularly the way the story unfolded. I did find it very heavy, which may be inevitable for the topic, and I thought the end was rushed. I liked the title character too!
