Guess I was trying to avoid a vet call. Oh well.

You're vet may sell you the smz's without a vet call?? Mine will... but he knows me and my horse very well.

My old vet would... since I just moved to MI, I've only known this vet for a short time. It took some convincing to get him to give me bute!

My other concern is now the cut itself has a big lump surrounding it. And it's hard.... maybe I should just bite the bullet and have the vet take a look.

If it's hard it may not ever go away. Sealy was left with one there. Is he lame on it? If not I personally wouldn't bother. SMZ's are kind of a broad spectrum, cheap antibiotic. If you call up and tell them what you need it for they may just sell it to you.

Dang. That's what I was afraid of Jen. I think I'll just call the vet, explain my concerns and ask if he will sell me the SMZs just to be sure. Maybe if I come across as having a clue, he'll be okay with that.

I have a phone call into the vet... asked him to call me and discuss the situation.
