Anybody else read these? My boss gave them to me to read after I told him how much I liked the Dragonriders of Pern series. I'm almost finished the first one. I don't love them but they do keep me busy enough and I'll probably finish the series. I just keep having to skim ahead b/c it is moving a little too slowly for my taste.

Yes, I have read them and I liked them a lot. Still waiting...waiting...waiting...for the next book in the series. There were a number of cliff hangers at the end of the last one.
If you like Fantasy series I would recommend the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan (12 books in the series, with 2 more to come). I also just read the first book (in what will be a trilogy) by Patrick Rothfuss called "The Name of the Wind", and liked that a lot.

Yup, loved them! Also recommend Jim Butcher's series Codex Alera series which IS finished! I loved the GRR books and they will be classics in fantasy but I wish he would finish, darn it, instead of writing other books! UGH!
Authors should not be allowed to die or write other books until they finish a series! lol

Nor should they be allowed to retire and pass the torch to their son like Anne McCaffrey did. Her sons books are not great but I'm forced to read them to get a Pern fix. Darn her! Maybe I'll slow down on this series. I hate having to wait for the next book. I have 4 of these I think is that all that's out so far?
