Well Zenyatta wins the Santa Margarita G1 Handicap at Santa Anita today remaining undefeated! A crazy finish much like the Breeders Cup by Mike Smith!
While RA looses her race today in New Orleans after a much needed race from having a 6 month lay up by half a length.
Its questionable weather they will meet in the Apple Blossom at this point!

I watched RA's race..... in the stretch I really thought she looked like she was gona come back on.. but she hung a little ... that announcer kept saying.. ( I forgot the name of that winning horse ) she out run the 'horse of the year' she has out run the 'horse of the year'... it seemed a little sad, but it was a big coup for that winning horse

Zenyatta has always been my fav. It was good to see her huge body coming down the stretch again. She is such a classy woman.
I watched RA's race and excuses excuses, she got beat. She deserved horse of the year due to her performance in '09 and she is obviously a modern day filly, made to run away with it. But in my mind she is not yet an "old great" like Zenyatta, Cigar, Curlin, etc.

To this day, I still disagree about the Horse of the Year choice, but maybe this year!!!

Zenyatta's stablemate Zardana is who beat RA.
Zenyatta is Horse of the Decade in my book!

RA's connections have decided not to run her in April against Zenyatta. He claimed RA was only 80% on saturday and doesn't want to run her there next.
Hmmmm.....I'm thinkin' if she runs like she just did....Zenyatta will whoop her tush. I was really unimpressed with RA's performance. If she wasn't tight enough to win, why would they run her there? I thought it was a bad move on their part.
Zenyatta was so brave and bold in her race. Big, big move by Mike Smith too. I think I yelled, "Ooh.... $h*t!!" when he yanked her to the rail like her did. Pretty sure she jumped heels with that move. Then she turned on the fire and won going away. It takes a really game horse to come back on like that once their momentum has been stalled. Good for her!
