ISLAND ROSE is a beautiful 5 yo dark bay or brown mare by Strategic Mission who measures 16.1 1/2." She is NOT currently sound for riding and will not be sold to race or as a riding prospect. The trainer put a light blister on her last week from the knees down and her legs are temporarily blown up. Regardless, they aren't pretty and won't be perfect after they tighten back down. Her ankles and surrounding areas are blown up (pastern, suspensories).
Rose needs a hoof trim very badly, and even tho she measured 16.1 1/2" today she will probably be an inch shorter after having her feet done. This gal was extremely sweet - she rubbed her head against Darren's chest and licked his hands while I took pics. Very nice sport horse broodmare prospect.
Notable sport horse sires in her pedigree include Buckpasser, Northern Dancer, Damascus and Herbager. Does not crib, weave, or stall walk. Easy to be around. Very sweet, loves people. Located at Mountaineer, zip 26050.
