I was so disappointed! Our trip was so busy and short! We left home Thursday eve for Lansing, MI to stay w/my dad... then left at 9:15 on Friday morning for KY... what a great drive.. the best part was being able to watch the temp. go up! Instead of Down (like on the way home!!!@))) Thank you so much for ordering the 73 degrees that we had on Saturday! WE got into KY at 6 on Friday night.. .then had Gymnastics meetings, etc., all evening.. kids were crispy and tired! then competition on Sat at noon.. for which we got lost on our way to the Fair Grounds! Then not out until 11:30pm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Our team took 2nd overall, and my daughter took 4th overall!!!!!!!!!!!! I wanted so much to meet you!!!! But it looks as though we'll be back w/our fifth wheel this summer! I didn't even get to see CHurchill downs! But Oxmoor looks cool! Never been to a steeple chase before, that might be fun. Left Sunday am at 9:15 after breakfast at the Marriott.. got home last night at 7... went through Shipshewana for giggles.. never been there either... was really bummed about not having time to tour! Like the Liqour Barn store though.. heheheheh oh and the SHoe Carnival! will hook up next trip! Kentucky is a beautiful place! I've never beent here before so it was extra special for me.. all the farms!!!!

Hey Laura! I am so bummed that we didn't get to get together but I'm glad your trip went so well and that your daughter and the team did so well! Sounds exhausting though Wasn't the weather amazing? What a fluke!! Of course, I was greedy enough to want less wind too but hey, it was back down to the low 20's today so I should never complain about the weekend.d I was just glad to see the SUN!!! And I actually got my butt on a horse. WOOOHOOO I do hope that you make it down this summer. We'd love to have you out. I grew up in the neighborhood where the Oxmoor steeplechase is so we'd always get to stand at the fence and watch for free Can't beat that with a stick. Too funny about Liquor Barn and Shoe Carnival! LOL...I forget how different the stores are from region to region. We just got our first Meijer here about two years ago and they had been in MI for years already wehn I lived there in the 80's. Where in Michigan are you again? Sorry we missed each other but glad your trip went well overall. If you make it down this summer you'll need to plan to pup up to Lexington too and do Keeneland and the Kentucky horsepark. Not to mention White Trash farm....lol. Lynne

Seriously now you guys...we could probably find a way to "accommodate" you and your fifth wheel at Rolex in the Horse Park campground. THe more the merrier, I say. It could be ultra fun to have THAT MANY exracer members together in one place! Most of the gang stays at local hotels, but a few of the hardy like to camp out at Horsepark, which is a NICE campground. After suffering a bit last year, I'm working on "acquiring" a camping trailer for several of us, in order to have a bit more comfort and protection from POSSIBLE elements... The only thing to remember is that HorsePark camp ground doesn't take reservations, and the electric hookup part of the campground fills up fast - by the first day of dressage, there's no sites left. ZenRider is thinking of going down a day early or two in order to hold OUR campsite...
