I just finished Under the Dome and was wondering if you had a favorite Stephen King book.
I think mine would have to be ... The Eyes of The Dragon. He had written it for his little girl.

Nope. Too scary for me. Terrie, I had you pegged as a cozy mystery reader!

The Green Mile is without a doubt my favorite Stephen King book and is the only movie made from a book that I have ever been completely happy with.
The short story The Mist was much better than the movie and didn't have the same ending at all. I actually really like the short story, but wasn't fond of the movie at all.
If you like his more science fictiony stuff, try out The Talisman and the Bleak House (either Bleak or Black, I forget). They are co-authored with Peter Straub, but I liked them.
Hearts In Atlantis was probably one of the worst movies ever and only touched on a small portion of the book. While the book had some weird stuff, there was alot of good stuff in there too, and it would rank high on my list of favorites as well.
I haven't read alot of his old stuff and should probably go back and do that at some point.
I like Dean Koontz at times as well, but some of his stuff is just too out there for me..lol. One of my newer favorites is Harlan Coben's 6 or 7 books that contain the character Myron Bolitar. They aren't sci fi, but are suspense/ mystery types and pretty funny at times as well.

All of his stories make horrific movies, other the The Green Mile I think and Shawshank Redemption, both I can watch over and over again.
I really liked reading Hearts in Atlantis as well. I think I've read almost all his books, I'm a huge fan! Coming home on a 9 hour trip I bought one of his short story collection on CD, they are phenomenal, a ton of stories and CDs but really, really good, typical SK short stories.

I'll admit.... I belong to the Stephen King Library Club and get his books as they come out. I think it depends on my mood as to which one I will reread except for Cujo......one reading of that book was enough for me. the movie stunk too.

I read Under The Dome recently and I really liked it so I drug out Insomnia, which I have had forever and never got around to reading. Holy crap, was there ever a more accurately named book? It is a total snoozefest and I made it about 1/3 of the way through before I had to read something else. Major disappointment.
I thought The Dead Zone and The Shining were good movies. Mr picasso was so freaked out by Salem's Lot that he won't let me watch it (I've never seen it).
My favoritest all time SK book is The Stand.

I totally love the book IT. I have read almost everything. I cannot get inot Rose Madder though for some reason. Carrie was super gross. I agree the movies suck The mist was a super short story.
What about CELL, he wrote that right? I liked it. I also really like Dean koontz, Lighting was great, but most are good.
