Not for the timid, but a quick read with things to make you think about what you are eating. It's a good read after you have pigged out over the holidays! ;D I first thought it was an in-your-face book about just stop being a wimp and put down that stupid unhealthy diet soda etc. They had me in tears laughing at first. Then, the fun gets serious. This is actually a vegan proposition. I had no idea! My massage therapist recommended it when I was recommending Omnivore's Dilemma to her. I couldn't read the chapter about slaughter house abuse. A few paragraphs was all I could take. (The beef we bought for the winter is locally grown and grass fed so I hope it was killed humanely. The ones Michael saw killed that his x-father-in-law grew here in Utah were humanely killed and the place wasn't a huge factory set up as described in Skinny Bitch.) They do throw out facts with references like there is no tomorrow, but I don't trust all of what they cite because it's just too easy to find studies. However, I do take a lot to heart based on other cross references I have run across.

I'll have to look it up, but there's an autistic lady who works with abbatoirs to make the lead up to the slaughter houses less stressful for cattle, sheep, etc.
Someone else may know? It's such a huge question.
