Never made it out of the racetrack before his life ended so shortly. He was a barn favorite. One of the few racehorses I first starting riding and learning on. One of the few that I had the chance to feel their power while traveling 40mph around the track. Alvin's life was cut short due to a broken sesamoid during a morning workout. We just started off, when I heard a loud pop, Alvin's head dropped to the ground as I stood up trying to hold his weight up so he wouldn't go down. Lucky for me, he had enough heart and courage to remain upright, as I pulled him up I was already in tears. The outrider came to my assistants as I dismounted, I was crying to heavily and shaking so bad I could not even remove my own saddle. I knew the outcome of this situation. In his memory, I made this video of him. To this day I still have a braid of his tail. Warning: You will need a tissue! www.youtube.com/watch?v=9WdTS8DCzRI
