After racing 26 times (5 wins, 4 places, 0 show) and earning $162,505, Persuaggle was adopted by me in June 2007 (after being presented for euthanasia) and renamed "Charlie". Various rehabs ensued, and during one of his first turnouts - he ran into a fence and got a laceration that turned out to be a much bigger problem than it looked like on the surface. He had several unsuccessful surgeries to remove the wooden foreign body, but was euthanized July 2009 after another abscess developed in his leg. He only had two short years with us, but he got to be a farm horse and loved it - turnout, getting muddy, etc. and peppermints above all!
