I purchased Toby from a trainer at Thistledown Racetrack when he was 4 years old. He was a maiden with only 8 starts....getting beat by 20 or so lengths or more in many of his races. After bringing him home my family and I decided he looked like a horse who had the talent but needed a little tlc in order to do well at the races. After some cross training and chiropractic work, Toby ran a solid 3rd in his first race for us. After that....4 wins in a row! Over the course of his career he had 6 wins and two thirds for my family (and a few races where he didn't run as well) and had career earnings of $53,759. I owned Toby for 3 wonderful years. He was a beautiful horse who's silly personality made everyone fall for him. When Toby retired in Oct. 2006 he went to live with Exracers member "Sabovee" where he learned to be a fabulous dressage horse. He then found a forever home with a lovely mom and daughter in Virginia. Recently Toby fell in his pasture and had to be euthanized due to a broken pelvis. Toby will always be one of my most favorite horses. He taught me about patience, how a little love can make a horse a superstar and put a little more humor into my everyday life. RIP Toby. 4/99-11/99

Oh Jen I am sorry. That is exactly the way I lost my old mare. It is so sad to say goodbye. Sounds like he was very lucky to be so loved and appreciated. Rest in peace Toby.
