Just in case anyone is looking for lovely books to give your kids for Christmas, here are some I like to recommend.
Father and Son: A Nativity Story, by Geraldine Mccaughrean I just love this picture book that considers Joseph's astonishment at the prospect of raising this child.
Bear's First Christmas, by Robert Kinerk The illustrator, Jim LaMarche is one of my favorites. You will love this gentle bear.
The Christmas We Moved to the Barn, by Cooper Edens Admit it. You secretly want to live in the barn with your horses and dogs and cats. This book is for you.
Letters From Father Christmas, by J.R.R. Tolkien There are many editions of the Father Christmas letters that Tolkien wrote and illustrated for his children. I don't even like Tolkien, and I like this book. Nice for older children and teens, too.

Yep, we have Sabuda books in the library, and we even let them circulate. You can imagine how well that works, but we do it anyway. I used to keep the pop-ups in the office, only bringing them out for storytimes, but they really work better with one or two readers, instead of in front of 15 preschoolers! I wanna do it! Me! No! It's MY turn! R-r-r-r-i-i-i-i-i-p!
