I have HOT WATER in my main barn, 75 gallons of pure winter-water bliss LOL. I found that out yesterday and was jumping around like a lunatic when they told me, they all think I am a nut case now LOL. Right now there is a local farmer renting the barn for a herd of about 40 milk cows and the cows makeit so warnm inside there you dont even need a coat, Im thinking its going to be a warm barn in winter and cool in the summer. The main barn is 40x70 with a newer added on section thats 40x25 i think all of which I can do box stalls, it is an older dairy barn but the cielings are higher then most normal dairy so its gonna work great for horses. Its got a good amount of windows but we will want to put in some more in time. off the main barn I have a large heated tack room/office that has water so we are putting in a small bathroom, nothing fancy just a toilet and a small sink, it was the milk house thats why its heatd. There are couple other outbuildings with a newer 35x32 barn that I want to put a couple big stalls in as soon as we are in for rescue cases I happen to be able to get at the auctions, Im in trouble I think LOL. I rechecked most of the fencing down near the barn where I would be keeping Tango and my old guy at first and althou it is barbed wire it is allnew and strong with all new wood psots. I picked up a roll of electric tape at a sale yesterday that we are going to run along the top of the wire till we can afford to change it all. There is an older wooden barn about 15x20 that is sturdy but in the wrong place so we are going to take it down and put it back up in the one pasture for a run in. I never got to talk to theldy with thehorse stuff cause she wasnthome, she was supposed to be so I will catch u with her at another time. We did find lots of new and used lumber up in thebarn here and there that we could actualy use to biuld a few stalls if we have to at first, nothing fancy but it will be safe and secure. There are 45 cast iron auto matic waters, the cow kind that I am hoping I can use for the stalls. The farmer told me they have never frozen up. I guess I will try them out and if they dont work then I will have to do something else but I dont see why a horse wouldnt use them right? ok Im done bragging LOL....I cant help it I love the place so much and its going to make a perfet horse farm once we have done some work to it. Pretty much its ready tomove 2 or 3 horse into now with very lil work so I will be able to move them right in on the day we move up there...Im so so excited. I cant wait to hit the auctions up there, lots of good cheap horses go thru the local ones from what everyone was telling me. A neighbor to the farm just bought a lil QH cross, sound sweetguy for $350 for his grand kids to play on and he was telling me theyhad about 45 or so nice horses that day...I think I wil lbe getting in lots of trouble LOL ;D...but I cant wait...
