I'm in awe of her. She's got to be the most incredible filly ever.

Just watched the race video on the Bloodhorse web site. Wow. That was a towering performance. Truly one for the ages. And did anyone notice how freaking enormous that mare is? She has to weigh 500 lb more than Mine that Bird. When the two were racing at the back of the pack, side by side, the size differential was astounding.

I got chills watching that race. What an incredible filly and an incredible race against the boys. I feel so privilidged to be able to watch both her and Rachel A run in my life time. They will both truly go down in history among some of the greatest fillies of all time.

I watched the Breeder's Cup, too. That filly, Zanyatta came from dead last to win the race. What a filly!!

She towered over the boy's at 17 1/2 hands!!! Mine that Bird is only 15.2.

I'd never seen her before, and I am in awe as well. She may be big but she is so elegant and well put together. When they were leading her around the paddock area she was stopping and pawing and just as I was thinking, horrified, that she was colicking, the reporter explained about her "pawing routine", lol. Amazing filly. I wonder if they'll ever run Rachel A and Zenyatta in the same race...I like RA but my money would be on Zenyatta!

Phenomenal!! I had no idea she was THAT big!
Doubt she and Rachel A will meet since Zenyatta runs on synthetic and Rachel on dirt....the connections don't seem eager to switch either horse so they could together - maybe a compromise and run on turf? (Ha!)
I also thought I heard Zenyatta wasn't going to race as a 6yo....

I think I heard something about that maybe being her last race?? Maybe I'm thinking of someone else like Conduit. And how awesome was he?? Winning the turf again the next year. After she won Mike Smith said he still didn't hit all gears
Did anyone else see the little video they put together of her and her "dance" routines before every race?? I hope the Breyer people are planning a model of her.

It's funny because they keep saying she's "17 and a half" hands.... but is she 17.2 hands? Because then they say she is "just over 17 hands!" WHICH IS IT? 17.2 or 17 and 1/2 inches? haha
She's awesome though. And I like the fact that she wasn't even started until age 3 due to her size. And she only sold for $60,000 as a yearling because she was covered in rain rot and nearly bald at the auction! What a interesting horse she is!

LOL Guess your bankroll is a lot bigger then mine. I'm very impressed that they didn't, I'm going to guess race her until she was three, or did they actually wait until she was 3 to start her period. Impressed either way, but way more impressed if the latter is true. As for her pre race routine it reminds me of something Flynn would do when he was excited, but trying to internalize it. He would sometimes stretch back like a dog (not quite, but..) and then cross his front legs across one another. Freaked me out the first time he did it, I thought he was sore or something. Checked him all out. Then started to notice the trend. It was just his way of not exploding and being a good boy. Now I'll have to look up their explanation for Zenyatta.

watched the whole race live with hubby... was biting my nails when they were trying to load quality road and both of us said at the same time "watch out you are going to get kicked" after they covered his eyes and tried to load. geesh, our nerves were wrecked knowing the other horses were all loaded and QR was freaking out! so glad it was only a few scratches and nothing worse and the other horses didn't flip out as well. i am glad they reloaded all of the horses too, it's only fair.
after they broke, DH sighs and says, well that's it, she's in dead last.... i told him not to give up so easily, it's a long race and she is just pacing herself.... and holy cow what a performance!!! we were screaming at the tv watching her come down the stretch!!! i think my dog took cover, LOL!!! what an incredible race, i don't think i will ever forget that one!! exhilarating!!
