Hey guys....
Trying to spread the word to help this horse out.
Rachael (rparis) and her Mom found him at Sugarcreek about an month ago. The story behind him is that he was a show hunter and also a fox hunter. He'd been shown at Hits on the Hudson as well. He's a tattooed TB but unraced. A flyer came along with him that had pics of him jumping and being flatted. Supposedly he was a product of a divorce and back board....went to a dealer and then he was sent to Sugarcreek.....He's 7 years old and 17.1 hands. Poor guy seems to have ring-bone in his right front pastern. No films taken but I'm pretty sure that is what is going on. A fairly bad case of thrush makes him a bit footsore as well. He's being fostered at a farm near Cambridge, OH right now but he REALLY needs a home. They are not able to turn him out on this foster farm so he only goes out to be hand grazed and he's not likin it too much. He does weave a bit and has been kicking the walls. I truly feel with lots of turn out this guy can be happy again and not bothered so much with a little stall time. He is more sound than he was in the videos taken of him a week ago. So I have hopes that this horse CAN be sound with maintenance to do flat work. I discussed this with my vet and he says he knows a lot of nice dressage horses who do have ring bone.
Anyway, he's free to a good home. I personally think he has the most beautiful head on him. The more we handled him the quieter he got today.
Stupid me though.....I had my camera in the truck and never took his picture. I had planned on bringing him home until I saw the leg....I think I would have been in mega trouble with DH if he'd come home with me today.
So....anyone looking for a cool BIG guy like this? Or know of someone who might need a trail/pasture buddy?
