Lawrence Anthony adopted a herd of rogue elephants into his South African game reserve. If he hadn't done, they would have been shot.

He calls it 'Life loyalty and freedom'.

Speaking of Elephants, I read another one lately if you like elephants. Not a very deep book but entertaining, none the less.
It was called Still Life with Elephant, by Judy Renee Singer. Not bad, easy read, and I loved the elephant parts in it.
