Has anybody read this? I found it on my bookshelf and rediscovered how much I enjoy his writing. This is one of my favorite books and the characters just come alive for me.
He has a new book out which I hope to read.

I read it several years ago. I remember that it was a good story. Is this the book with the disturbing tiger (or lion) episode?
His new book is on my list.

Wasn't that also a movie with B. Streisand? I think I saw it years ago...very "sappy" if I remember well?

Oh, well, if it was Streisand ....  Back to the book v movie debate. Please ignore the fact that I've never forgiven her for not being able to spell our name correctly. She once produced an album called 'Color me Barbra'. I nearly bought it, just to send it back, corrected in red pen with the comment 'Sp!'. This has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the fact that she snaffled Andre Agassis from under my nose one Wimbledon. That neither of them knew I was there is neither here nor there ... Barbara  |

Say wha? You're right, book vs movie, I should read the book since movies are rarely true to books and it's been so long since I've seen the movie the story is fuzzy to say the least. I'll pick it up next time I go to the library, IF they have it (they haven't had the books I wanted lately, grrr) |
