Lynn is trying to make me have to go to Sam Houston and pick up a horse. I just love this guy's face. The only thing holding me back is the stifle strain. I don't know anything about stifles except bad stifles=no jumping. Anyone care to comment? I know Michelle should know lots from Nate..care to weigh in here? I'm not crazy about the pasterns either, but then I don't know what they are supposed to look like. These just look really slopey to me. I L-O-F-F him though, REALLY! And who couldn't love this face? Trainer said no to grey horse..too much for too little and too many 's

I saw him on the site yesterday. He is NICE. Look at the muscle on him. I am not too familiar with stifle injuries, though.

He IS nice and if the man is standard size, the horse is BIG. He has the nicest face, you're right! He looks lanky and a bit un-comboobalated. This is a highly technical term I use for horses that look as if they might be gawky movers, mainly because they are too big for their britches, but may grow into their britches to be really really nice horses!

Well, you'd need the vet to check him out and see what's up with the stifle. Nate has upperward fixation of the patella, and that is very common. It was explained to me that the ligiment gets "stuck" on part of the stay apperatus. And then the leg "locks" you can visably see it, he can't bend at his stifle, and it seems to hurt him! There is a sx for it, but I'm not a fan. So we treat Nate with Estrone (HUGE improvement) and Corta flex, which I have all my boys on when they are showing/working hard, I loff the stuff ;D
Also keeping Nate fit is key. Out of shape and he locks up, and going in and out of shape, he does, and it's painful to him, so steady consistant work he needs, no lounging and hill work is awesome.
I ment to say, I still jump Nate with it, we jump rather large too ;D We just manage it, there is no perfectly sound horse that's been jumping 4'6 for 4 years and can pack me around, soooo, I'm OK with it. Also, [glow=red,2,300]WOW[/glow] what a cutie that horse is!!

SMay- what technical terms..lol. I think that is a woman standing by the horse (woops ) and he's only 15.3-16 hands. Not a big boy at all. Michelle- his ad just says that he had a stifle strain..here it is.. 5 year old bay 15.3 gelding and all personality! He is a lovable goof, as you can see from his photos. As a 5 year old maiden, Huebert has proved he's not a racehorse and is retiring. He had an old strained stifle that was never an issue and is ready to start a new job. His trainer just loves this one and would like to see him start a new career as a riding horse. Huebert seems to like the activity of a busy barn, loves to be handled, and seems like he would blossom with personal attention. Very easy to handle

He definately needs a name change~horse, not holder ;D If you like him (I DO!! I DO!! But I like them all ) go vet him, if it's no big deal, just some maitenance and keeping him in shape, that would be OK with me. I've never had one without issues that could do it's job day in and day out. What we ask of them (show jumping, eventing, dressage) is hard on them, ya know? Well, Eventing is HARD on me and I only did Novice Did you ever see a pic of Shorty not jumping? He was a conformation nightmare, and yet he could jump the moon ;D He was ewe necked, over at the knees...horrible. I know some great conformation hunters that are dead lame (of coarse they are still showing and winning ) What about they grey Chief? I know greys are a big time pain in the hinney to clean especially after they go white!!

Still laughing over the Austin Powers comment...
Michelle- my trainer said no to the grey because she felt he was too much money for what little he had done (nothing) and we couldn't get a straight answer about the shoes. I e-mailed twice asking about the trialers and they just didn't answer.

Ahhh, totally makes sense. i thought she didn't like him because it seems like people ask more for greys, thinking they can get it for thier pretty color, that we all know fade to poop green and mud brown...I mean white ;D

Actually, I call Zen's colour dingy white. Ahhh, the joys. Ya know, that's why I was never going to own a grey. Now how did that happen. Oh, and SMay, I knew she was a woman in the picture. Hmmm, maybe time for some reading glasses lady. Oh, and the horse is definitely worth a look.
