I am selling my Thornhill Germania 2 Phase saddle, in excellent used condition. The seat size is 18”. This saddle has a square cantle with a medium deep seat, and knee and calf blocks for great leg stability. This saddle offers great balance and security for the jumping phase, yet the narrow twist, comfortable seat and cushioning work well for the dressage phase. It is also very comfortable for trail and general riding. The wool stuffed generously shaped panels and medium to medium-wide tree fits a wide range of horses. This saddle has fit well on some Thoroughbreds as well as a couple of Paint horses I have owned. This saddle is very comfortable and well balanced, and I would not part with it except that it will never fit Jay, and I need to get a new saddle for him. This saddle is dark brown smooth German bridle leather, and shows normal wear. This saddle has been well cared for, and has never been damaged in any way. I know its complete history, as I bought it from a friend who purchased it new in 1997 or 1998. From the manufacturer: The GERMANIA® line consists of renowned German products, modified by a German saddler, with the help of American Olympic riders at Southern Pines over a two year period. $350 OBO

Refresh my memory, what size saddle does Jay need? And what exactly are you looking to replace this one with....jumping or dressage?

I may have found one...but Jay needs a narrow saddle, and I need an 18" seat. I have a Wintec 2000 AP that I can use for jumping, so I would probably go with a dressage saddle. (Although the saddle I may have found is a Collegiate Sr. Event. Between Jay's build and my finances I have been pretty limited on choice, new or used as it is turning out.) This Germania saddle would never fit Jay, it is just too wide. As soon as I can get a description ready I will be posting the Kieffer Aachen that I have been using on Jay.
