Well today Baby had his teeth floated and they where bad! His skin problem is lice! And that just gives me the heebie jeebies!! The vet sprayed him and he was picking them off a few minutes later. Gross!! Poor guy, no wonder he was/is so itchy. I was told to treat him again in 2 weeks then again in 2 weeks after that. Wish I would of noticed it earlier so I could have started treatment when he first got here! I feel so bad! But at least now he will start gaining more weight and won't be itchy!

You know, that was one of the things I thought about but dismissed it because the patches were only on his face. I'm glad you finally have it taken care of! Yay for Baby!!!
The other horse that's in the pasture with him will need to be treated as well.

I have never dealt with lice, ever! He looks so awful right now it is like after the vet sprayed him they got mad and are biting with fiery now where he didn't spray him! So I went over a little earlier and sprayed him from head to toe! Put gloves on and made sure and rubbed it in really good! Hope it works! I am wondering now though, now that he has been treated and I have washed all the halters and lead ropes he has come into contact with, if I will have to wash them every time I use one on him?

Until the lice are all gone, it would be a good idea to keep washing his clothes and brushes, etc.
