What's the current prognosis for Cypress? I saw your post about her "fat hock" - any let up in the swelling? Poor girl! And what about the interview? Any word on that yet?? Details, Woman, details!! ;D

I wish I could really answer these questions! There's still a notable bulge on the back of her leg--that "seat of curb" area below the hock. She doesn't seem lame at all when I walk her, and she rests weight on it pretty easily. I've taken her off Bute for a couple of days to see if it was masking discomfort, and don't see much difference. So....she FEELS okay, but the leg just looks wrong. I'm now wondering if she wasn't kicked there. I tried cold hosing the leg this morning. If there's any mark of a hoof, it's so faint that I can't be sure I'm seeing what I think I might be seeing. I paint a fuzzy picture, don't I? I am reluctant to call the vet again. I've already spent about $300 on this injury and that doesn't make my budget happy. So I'm continuing with stall rest, hand walking short distances, and maybe I'll go back to the Bute to see if I notice any reduced swelling. The interview went fine. I should hear something in the next week or so. The grapevine has it that there were a lot of applicants, and some from out of state! I'm afraid anyone with an MLS can beat me out for this job. Thanks for asking! I don't go in to work until this evening, so today I'm home cruising the net for job openings. I've found a nice position for my husband in Washington DC. Oh....wait....I'm supposed to be finding a job for ME!!! Tee hee! Almost forgot

That job you saw for your husband? It wouldn't be with the BUSH administration, would it?? :hahaha::hahaha: (I know, I've been a brat all my life, with no hope of ever changing!)

No! Actually it would be at William Penn House where all the liberal lobbyists converge when they are visiting DC!

AD, could she possibly have a high curb? Isn't that what a bow is called in the rear leg? Do you have any pictures of her leg that we can see?

I don't know Ad, you find the right job for your husband, then you don't need a job right? Think of all the time you could spend with Cypress then. Heck, ya get him a good enough one, you could get a second Exracer to play with. ;D

Ooooh. I don't know. That sounds logical. I don't have pictures, nor a functional camera, nor a website to host pictures if I did take them, etc. I'm a dinosaur, I know. But you've got me thinking. I'll do a little reseach on "high curbs." Might be applicable.

I'm not really sure if that's an option for Cypress, but I was helping some C rated Pony Clubbers study for one of their tests a few weeks back and curb was one of the leg ailments they were studying, so I thought I would mention it. At least I think it was called curb. It may be something else, but I know that it was a bow in a rear leg and can be high or low like a front bow. I know, I'm not much help..lol.
