You know, I am the worlds WORST sugar addict and I did South Beach. I lost over 20 lbs after 4 months on that diet and that was without serious excercising. Then I got to the 'dead' zone and have this last 10 lbs to lose. I was eating too much sugars still. I went out and got Jillian Michaels book and dvd and I'm going to burn the rest off, hopefully! ;D

I've been doing the fitness programs available on tv with "On demand" and it's actually pretty good! I like how they have all kinds of general or targeted workouts of different length (10 mn, 20 mn, 1 hour, etc.). I go to a weekly Yoga class, I started a year ago. So I thought the On demand "Yoga for fitness" program would be right up my alley....NOT!!!! Boy is it HARD!
My kids make fun of me. I have to exercise when they're not around. lol

Niaru, what's the Yoga like? Someone in our town is offering a Cardio-Yoga class and I can't imagine how that works either. Half my yoga class is spent lying on the floor! I think I'm in the Yoga for Lazies program.

LOL Ad I once went to a pilates-yoga fusion class, it was WEIRD.
The yoga class I take focuses on breathing (Ashtanga yoga) but can be very strenuous, as you go seamlessly from one pose to another based on your breathing. You basically never stop, either you're moving from pose to pose or you're holding a pose (and sweating buckets while holding, too!).
The On Demand Yoga-for-fitness is even harder, and what bothered me is they don't tell you how to coordinate your breathing with the moves (you don't want to exhale or inhale at the wrong moment...). One test to see if you're up to the challenge: While sitting cross-legged on the ground (or in lotus position if you can), place you hands on each side by your hips, palm on the ground. Can you lift yourself (butt and feet) up and hold it for 10-15 breaths? I can't, LOL!
But they do have other Yoga that is much easier (ahem, boring).

Niaru, that sounds like ballet. I could never do it. Actually, I brought home the NYC Ballet Workout DVD from the library once, thinking I'd give it a try. It is impossible! I love my easy, slow, stretchy yoga class, but I'm bad about keeping up the practice at home on my own. I tried this morning, but kept jumping up to unload the dryer or answer the phone.
