Anyone using a Wii Fit?
What do you like about it? Dislike?
I managed to snag one last week online - just waiting for it to come in in the next couple of days.

I was going to get one, but did a lot of reading about it....the only reason I opted not to is that supposedly if you're already fitness-minded, then you are "smarter" than the game. I dunno....I'll still probably cave eventually and get it! Let me know how you like it; I can't wait to hear. There's also a snow-boarding game that integrates the WiiFit board. Now that's a game I can't wait to get!!!!! (Dance Dance Revolution...THAT is one heck of a workout!!!! I promise!!!)

I have it. It's not too bad. I work out in the gym regularly (4-5 days a week if possible) so I got it to just kind of supplement that and so that I was motivated to do more at home. Dislike..day 1 it told me my wii fit age was 40, day 2 it told me my wii fit age was 20. I'm 24. This is based on their balance games..day 1 I got a game I was terrible at..day 2 I got a game I could do. Oh yeah..and it makes my little Mii look chunky. But at least it didn't TELL me my weight..it asked me if I'd like to see it. I declined . The choices aren't too terribly bad on it and as you use it more, you unlock new things.

Ditto on Dance revolution...what a work out! My daughter just bought herself Rock Band. Not for fitness (although, if you're doing it standing up and dancing with the music...then yes!!), but it's FUN!

Is dance revolution comparable to running for 1/2 hr? On these rainy mornings I don't run, but an excuse to buy the Wii might be fun!

There is a "workout" mode in the DDR game. I haven't done that one yet because I'm always playing against people with the dances. But if you did DDR for 30 minutes straight, your heart rate would DEFINITELY be elevated. Not quite comparable to running, but the surgeon general does say 'you should get 30 minutes of moderate intensity exercise (i.e. your heart rate is elevated) most, if not all, days of the week.' I def think it's worth it for those nasty rainy days!!!

Nope....it's own game called Dance Dance Revolution. Uses a 'dance pad' to play. It's a lot like the old-school Nintendo running pad thingie.

I finally got to use my Wii Fit this morning for the very first time. I love it. The exercise isn't too strenuous yet, but I'd imagine you could do it a few times & probably work up a decent heartrate. I have a 3-year-old who doesn't want me to do anything but play with her this morning, but I still managed to get in about 20 minutes of workout time & unlock the advanced step aerobics part.

I have one. I was very faithful to it for the first week and now I don't play with it as much. I find that it makes me more aware of my need to exercise. I'm not sure if it actually helps but I love to hula! I also really enjoy the Olympics game (not a Wii Fit game but a game for the Wii ). It has characters like Yoshi and Sonic, and my arms killed after I played it! How are you liking your board?

i just got my board this week and set it up the other night. OMG it is so much fun. i have been doing the balance games, and the hoola hoops. i unlocked the advanced hoola, and holy cow, that was a workout! it is really good for rehabbing my hip, it's getting me to balance and move more. i tried the yoga, and it was difficult to keep the pose and balanced, but it was a fun challenge, and i will be doing that in the mornings. i convinced my friend that i workout with, to come over on monday mornings for a lite workout with the wii (either games or board).
anyone figure out how to use the wi-fi feature yet and invite friends to play games?

I have one, and haven't been able to use it a whole lot, but dear lord is it judgey! It makes me giggle. I apparently can NOT do the balance games. The Yoga is really helping me actually, because you really cannot cheat with imbalance. I'm finding myself doing the stretches on horseback (the beginning of the sun salutation one and the half-moon one--try it!) and it's really helping my back.
Mariyajom, don't you feel like the biggest SPAZ doing the hula game? good lord, I make sure nobody is around for that one! hahahahaahhaah!
RE: Rock band, it kicks my ass! I love playing, but i can't play at home right now, because the TV we have doesn't work with Rock band. WAAAAHHH!! We have to own the only gigantic TV that doesn't work. Booo. But when I play in NC, I am sore the next day, especially from playing drums.
