I just read blind assassin by Margaret Atwood and it was pretty good. Not my new fave, but a good story to read on the beach. Atwood was very good at familiarizing the characters to you.

I've read it - some time ago - but it's gone from my sherbert brain. I do like Margaret Attwood though, some of her stuff is amazing.

I read that one too. Actually I think I have read most of her stuff. I loved Oryx and Crake. And of course she is a household name here in Canada. A comedy program here did a series of fake celebrity tutorial type sketches and in one Ms. Atwood gave a lesson in tending the goal in hockey, wearing full gear and showing how to block shots. Hilarious!

I didn't realise she was Canadian! Or you, for that matter! What with Garou and all (and, of course, Safety Dance I'm really in Canada mode! Lived there in (mumble) outside Vancouver, so I don't know if that counts as Canada .. ;D Oryx and Crake was an amazing book.
