I think I've found my stallion. He's a rescue horse located in Oregon. 12.5% WitezII... his other lines are excellent also. He's 20 years old, has a very kind eye and good conformation. His price is something I can afford. His owner just wants to make sure he goes to a good home. And yes, his semen has been tested and he's fertile! Transportation will be the big issue...as you know, I'm not too fond of commercial shippers after what happened to Max....
If this deal works out, I may need some places to camp out overnight on our way back... I'll have my RV and a portable corral for Flame... Anyone on this board live between Kansas and Oregon?? Wish me luck on this one!

Hi. Don't know if I'm supposed to post urls here or not. Here is a website link I found the day before yesterday that if you scroll to the bottom there's something called the rescue railroad & it's supposed to have places you can stop for free. Also noticed a link for rescue arabs on there also. www.rescues-etc.com/missouri.htmWe want to see Pics ;D See, your dream is still alive!

Here is a website I found that lists "horse motels" - places you can stop WITH your horses and either rent a stall or corral or something along with your own room for overnight...some are even campgrounds.... check it out for the states between Kansas and Oregon! www.horsemotel.com/index.html

He sounds cool and 20 for a stallion is nothing. I had a great registered QH stallion I got from auction that was 26 and he thought he was only 10. He was an awsome color producer and in the 4 years I had him he made 3 awsome foals. He lived to be 37 and lived out his life as a totaly spoiled lawn ornamint for a lady I gave him to that totaly adored him to pieces. The last I heard one of his daughters produced a top show filly that was racking up points in western showmanship. I hope you find somehwere to stop along the way that wont cost an arm and a leg and good luck with him and the trip...we will be needing pics asap

I don't know, he's not bay! :hahaha: He looks great. I can't help you in that direction, so you be careful driving that far this time of year. Bring lots of extra food for you and horse. Better to have it than need it, right?

He's wonderful, Chris! Don't forget that fairgrounds are also a good place to stop. If you do have to go with a shipper, I can recommend one that I've used that are headquartered in Oregon. Just in case.

I do, depending upon which way you are crossing the country. If I were you, I would go farther south. It would be a heck of a long detour just for a free place to camp for one night. I live off I-90. Linda

Oh he's gorgeous! If my Arab wasn't so old, what a gorgeous cross they would have - the Crabbet and Witez lines - wow!
