Anyone ever use Ani-Med Vita Calm for this horse?: Only reason I ask is because my Caper cannot ride in an arena, trails, do events, etc with multiple horses with him. He is very nervous, sweats uncontrollable, chomps on the bit, dances around, and just basicly looses his mind. Its been 2 years off the track and I have spend A LOT of time riding him with a lot of horses and doing a lot of activities and he has not gotten any better. I am thinking that he just mentally cannot handle it and might need a bit of help from meds. Was thinking of giving this to him in his daily feed. It states that is helps relax the horse from stress and nerves without making them tired or have the drugged out feeling. Was wondering if anyone has opinions on it. I've never used that brand, but to help Eagle when he moved to my palce we used cool and calm and he did pretty good.

I like the Ani Med brand, we used AniFlex for a couple of Einstein's horses and they seemed to do well. I'd say it would be worth a try!

Yup, I use AniFlex for Mikey and Porter when he's not in work and really like it. As in I actually notice a difference when they are on it vs not on it.
Fancy, have you heard of Transitions? I've heard GREAT things about it, we can buy it locally at feed stores. I can get you info if you want, but I've heard it works really well to let them tune out the "noise" and focus without the horse being sluggish or drugged. It's a suppliment that you give daily I think. It may be as needed though.

I really like it. Have it on hand all the time. I put my OTTB on it last year (07) the beginning of show season daily for the first month. It never dull, drugged or changed his personality. He was just able to coop with the stressful situations better. But as the season went on I just gave it to him starting 2 days before a show or event and it still helped alot.
I actually have another "barn buddy" who tried it (used my stuff) and fell in love with what it did for her boy. She is ordering her own bucket.
Like Einstein said- I could also tell when Guff was on it or not.
