I got my October Mid-Atlantic Thoroughbred magazine last night and was thrilled to read the health article. It's on malabsorption disorders and features Blue Blue Sea, my beloved TB. After all the success that Blue has shown with the diet change this year, I've been on a mission of sorts to get the word out that there is some hope for horses diagnosed with such disorders. This article is the first in what I hope to be several in various horse industry magazines, so no owner and horse have to go through what Blue and I did two years ago or in the very least that they might find some hope. Many kudos to Denise Steffanus for writing a top notch article. CANTER even got a mention since I found Blue through them. Just so everyone can know the difference it's made. Here is a picture (forgive the quality - my digital camera was on the fritz 2 years ago and was taken with a disposable) of Blue two years ago at the height of his disease: And here is Blue today:

Wow, now that's what I call a transformation. Great job! He is such a pretty red horse too!

I never would have guessed that was the same horse from those pics! Thanks for the info.

My TB was diagnosed with malabsorption disorder of unknown origin last year - vets said he probably would not pull through. After meds and 6 months off, he gained all weigh back and is doing fine. I am not familiar with your TB's story! Interestingly, my horse's name is also Blue! Wish I could see the article.

Wow, Blue looks fantastic! Thanks for sharing that news. Hopefully it will help others out there with issues like you guys had. I remember all those posts. Good job and congrats to you both!
