Hey Shannon..that is great news! ;D
I just moved my girls to a small private barn after boarding very unhappily at a larger boarding barn. I could not be happier! The place you found sounds wonderful...private and affordable and close. Geez...what more can you ask for!? I wish you luck and hope your move turns out to be as good as mine was! I am really happy for you..there is nothing worse then being unhappy where your horses are...hard to enjoy the overwhelming joy of them with so much crap around you! Keep us posted!

Sure SMay, last minute, huh? I think SMay just took procrastination to another level for the challenge of getting that coggins test in the nick of time. :coffee: :horsie:

Well, now ACTUALLY, I didn't need the Coggins result overnight - I needed it in two weeks, BUT the vet said that I would be pushing it to get it back in two weeks through the normal snail mail channels. So we decided for me to run it over to the lab myself. So when I GOT there and handed it over, the lady says "now, you can pick up the results tomorrow." and I was shocked that basically, you CAN get your Coggins over night if you just do it YOURSELF. Nice huh? Larn somethin' new ever-day...

I had no idea how much it was stressing me out - even before it got even nastier there with Barn B--**. My DH mentioned how much more relaxed he felt there just talking to the guy - and I never really realized how much friction the was at the current place until he said that. I never could really relax there - always felt like I was being scrutinized in kind of competitive way. Not that there aren't some really nice people there, but I was not enjoying my horses the way I should be - you're right! Whenever I was there, I always felt -- furtive! CatB - yes, this guy goes team penning EVERY Tuesday night! Joe is fascinated by cutting horses, so is really interested in this team penning idea! SMay - he is actually letting us have one big stall and one smaller one for all three. PeaNut the PoNee Mule happily shares a stall with Adair when he needs to. So we are getting a great deal. And, he has a 4 horse trailer, so yes, we can schlep them out of there in one glorious swoop! I've got to start sneaking my stuff out of there - if I can pull this off the way I'd like, I will be paying my last bit of stall rent tomorrow and telling them buh-bye. I would prefer to say buh-bye and leave them the last bit of stall rent this weekend - ooooh, do I dare? Nah - I guess I'll just keep the kids out in the pasture until then and stay away from the barn entirely.@

Wow! I've been out-librarianed! CatB's right about getting out of Dodge. And lots of us Yanks have adopted the expression to mean we want to escape any tiresome situation, as in, "The weather is rotten, I'm almost broke, my kid's been expelled, the dog just tipped over the neighbor's trash, and I'm ready to get the H3ll outta Dodge!" (That statement is not entirely true! My dog and my kid are doing just fine! ;D )

everyboy sing ;D I said I wanna touch the earth I wanna break it in my hands I wanna grow something wild and unruly
I wanna sleep on the hard ground In the comfort of your arms On a pillow of bluebonnets In a blanket made of stars
Oh it sounds good to me
(I said) Cowboy take me away Fly this girl as high as you can Into the wild blue Set me free oh I pray Closer to heaven above and Closer to you closer to you
I wanna walk and not run I wanna skip and not fall I wanna look at the horizon And not see a building standing tall
I wanna be the only one For miles and miles Except for maybe you And your simple smile
Oh it sounds good to me Yes it sounds so good to me
Cowboy take me away Fly this girl as high as you can Into the wild blue Set me free oh I pray Closer to heaven above and Closer to you closer to you
I said I wanna touch the earth I wanna break it in my hands I wanna grow something wild and unruly Oh it sounds so good to me
Cowboy take me away Fly this girl as high as you can Into the wild blue Set me free oh I pray Closer to heaven above and Closer to you closer to you
Closer to you Cowboy take me away Closer to you :brian:

Shannon I am so glad for you! I am hoping something like that comes around for me, so I can keep Count (a very nice person is footing his bill this month) or I can convince the lady where I board to take weekly payments.
There are 2 new babies at the barn - one Arabian and one Half-Arabian, both fillies. There's one more on the way, any day now for her. It will be Whiskey's grand-filly/colt!
