It is with great sadness that due to the money issue and that where I board cannot afford to "foot the bill" for any horses, I had to call New Vocations today and am having them take Count back. I guess that the harder you try the worse it gets. I feel like I am going to be sick. At least I have Whiskey, she is an old friend but I sure can't help feeling really bad about Count. So you will all see his picture back up at the site, and I sure hope that he gets a good home - one at a private barn where he can enjoy.

At least he has New Vocations to go back to. That's got to be some comfort. And they only let the very nicest people adopt - like you and me, right? Sure hope things improve for you. Maybe he will stay there a while and you can get him back out of hock? The Fabulous Yonkie was there for like, 5 months. She was obviously waiting for me. Hugs to you!

I am so sorry Shelby... The joys of owning horses would be so much better if they didn't cost so much. I understand your predicament...I have to work two jobs to afford my girls and barely at that some months. That is just the pits to hear about Count. Again..I am sorry.

I'm so sorry, Shelby. I think the others are right, though. Maybe Count will be there waiting for you when you are ready for him again. New Vocations will take good care of him. I'll keep you in my prayers!

I am so sorry to hear that he has to go back. It must be such a difficult time for you. I am sure the volunteers at New Vocations will take care of him. I'll keep you in my thoughts. I wish there was something more I could say.

Oh Shelby, I'm so sorry that it has come to this. I know that you would have done anything in your power to keep him. Luckily for him, you are willing to put him in a position where he will find another good home.
I know you're grieving the loss. I wish I could help but I'm at my maximum limit. It's okay to grieve, but don't go beating yourself up about it. You've been a good owner and you're being responsible now. I wish it could have worked out otherwise. I feel so bad for you, and sad.

Awww, that just bites. But at least you know he will be well cared for and has a good chance of being adopted by another horse nut like you. Or maybe as Shannon and Ad said, he may be waiting for you later this year should things improve for you. Give your guys a hug for me. Oh and should you not be able to recover Count in the future, you KNOW we'll be here when you are ready to add to your collection again.

Oh I am so sorry that you have had to make this decsion. I know how much thought you had to put into this and how hard it is. Like the others have said, at least you know where he is going is a good place and he will get an owner as great as you have been to him.....big warm hugs to you...I hate that so many of us have boarding issues wether it be the money or just that its so hard to find a good barn. I wish you could all move on over to our new place when we move in, I would be so lucky if I can get boarders like all of you.

I am so sorry. I WISH I had another stall, then I could keep him for a bit for you. I'm so bummed I hope it's comforting that New Vocations is awesome and he'll either be waiting for you, or gone to a wonderful new home, just like yours was. I know you feel bad, but try not too. Like everyone has said, you are an awesome Mom to him, and you are giving him all the best chances in life, more then lots of people do. I know he'll always love you (and you him) and please know that you did the best for him. I'm so sorry about this, it stinks

So sorry to hear. Sometimes it just gets so hard keeping these horses financially. You're so lucky you have a good place for her to go.

I am sorry Shelby that you can't keep Count. I was hoping that things would turn around for you. It sounds like New Vocations will take very good care of him. I know this is really tough for you. It's ok to go ahead and grieve....... it is like losing a friend, but take comfort in knowing that he will be well taken care of.

I agree with everyone...at least he HAS New Vocations to go back to! They have that beautiful facility over there and he'll get the best of care there...plus they won't let someone adopt him that isn't approved into their system.. I'd say cross your fingers that maybe he'll stick around a while and you can get him back! And will they let you visit him? I will practically be able to SEE him from my backyard, you know! Gosh I wish I had another stall too...I'd definitely keep him for you until the job thing improves. Kiss to Whiskey!
