Well, I have decided - for this month - to just put all 3 horses on pasture board and give up my stall in the barn. That will be about $100 a month that we can save (which we desperately need right now). I have been looking around and haven't been able to find anything workable that has good pasture, and this place does have that. I have found a couple of good areas to concentrate on, though.
Since people who do pasture board are basically considered the scum of the earth, I will now have limited contact with the owners and can take care of anything they need over at the "Other Barn" - which doesn't have electricity and is at the opposite side of the property. It's where the resident Vaquero contingent keeps all their horses, and I don't think the owners ever go over there. I am going to get my stuff out of the tack room today (Scum of the Earth don't have Tack Room Privileges) I am also going to see if I can park my feed barrel with another one of the barn boarders (Scum of the Earth don't have Feed Storage Privileges) - which I am sure will not be a problem.
It would be easier to move if we had a trailer - which we don't - so when we do find a new place, I'll also have to arrange for the getting then over to it. But this will give me a month to prepare and look.
As for dishing - the Barn B--** is in her early 20's. Fiance is probably mid-late 30's. This will be his THIRD marriage. When I first came to the barn, he had an 18 month old son from his LAST marriage, and had just gotten the place with Barn B--**. Do the math. She has always been spoiled rotten, and he admits it. He's a nice enough guy and you can actually talk to him. When she is not there. She will only talk to the two women in our barn who are over 50. She is totally the problem, and he just lets her run him over. She obviously has major jealousy issues.
Since I have been there, I have always paid my rent on time, added two more horses to their boarding, kept the barn clean, taken care of the barn cats out of my own pocket, filled water troughs, followed the rules, etc. She has accused me of leaving the gates unlocked and then left a note that said whoever was caught leaving them so would be asked to leave. (And then snuck around when I was the only one there to check the gate locks) She confronted me about feeding my horses in the empty stall and then left a nasty note about that. She "caught" me petting their yearling through a crack in the stall door and and then left a note about anyone going in the stall of their mare who had just foaled will be kicked out. She has called me to get my horses out of a paddock in the pouring rain by 6:30 am, and then didn't use the paddock. She has not fed my horse (even though I pay for it) because "They just didn't know because she hadn't been in" I have been chastised for not being clear about when I want my horse turned out, although I always leave a note about it. They've changed the locks on the tack room and never told me the new combo, even when i left a note asking. Now the Coggins report thing. Etc. It has now escalated to where they leave hoses and water in front of my stall (next to the wash rack) on a nearly daily basis and I SWEAR are trying to trap me by leaving the lights on in the barn (as I am usually the last one there) to see if I will turn them off. I can SEE her looking out the window of their bedroom when I am there! WHAT DOES SHE THINK I AM DOING??
Anyway - since you mentioned YOUR problems from before, Zenrider - I had nails in my tires on two separate occasions when I still parked inside the gates. ( I park outside now because of the wear and tear on the car). Joe kept asking "Are they building over there?" No one else got flats, and it stopped when I quit parking inside. EWWWWWWW!
Anyway - everyone visualize a really reasonable boarding place with great pasture. I think this will take care of a lot of the problem now - I won't be around to provoke her - and she'll really have to stretch to find something to complain about now.
