Now that I'm not working Jay - skinny boy, plus loss of all that nice muscle on the topline and neck = I've always had to work hard at keeping weight on him b/c he's soooo active, plus a worrier. Currently on: 2xday 2lbs (dry) beet pulp (unsweetened) 1lb oats 3 quarts alfalfa cubes 2 quarts Legends High Performance (16% fat, plus adds in that bit of sweet that convinces him to eat it all!) 1/2lb flax plus supplements, free choice alf/timothy hay, grass, water, etc. I just titrated him up to 3 scoops of Cool Calories, from 1 scoop b/c the weather has turned very autumn-like. The new barn manager (we're new, not her!) suggested this Horse Sense feed for him....any opinions???

I haven't heard of it before. Wish I could be of more help.

Not a fan. Oh, the owners are spectacular salesman and easily suck you into their enthusiasm.
But the feed has a gritty texture and Dancer did not find it palatable at all! I tried it on him as he developed a breathing problem thought to be allergies. Conventional medicine (including clenbuterol-$$$$!) was not helping so I was looking for alternatives.
So I tried it for a few months and watch as my horse totally went downhill. Why? Because he actually has EPSM and even with the higher fat roasted oats that they sell, he was not getting enough fat and probably way too much sugar/starch for an EPSM horse. I called them and told them why I was not continuing to feed their product and was told that Horse Sense could "cure" EPSM. Ah...no it cannot!
BTW, he is fine now on an EPSM diet of soaked beet pulp/alfalfa cubes, gro-n-win and oil!
Go over to COTH and do a search. There have been a couple of threads on it.
I'm also off to research new feeds...sigh. Only in my case, Basil is doing fantastic on his Buckeye Trifecta but feed store is having difficulty with Buckeye. Blech!

Katelyn,
I have no information on the feed, but just reading your list of his daily feed makes my head spin.
Good luck finding the information.
