Don't have details yet, but they found three (the two from up here and a third maybe from Florida?) They are in Florida. My mother called to tell me she heard it on the radio driving to work. I never used the Vet mentioned, but I do know her though I haven't seen her in years. Before becoming a Vet she worked Polo at the barn my friend Jamie worked Polo. Never would have taken her as a horse thief. What a stupid way to ruin your career. Will come back with more details once I can go get a paper. www.chicagotribune.com/search/chi_all.jsp?Query=stolen+horses

They were West Palm Beach. One was 2 miles from home with markings altered... San Diego has been found! He was in a barn only 2 miles from the barn he was stolen from on January 22.2003 in West Palm Beach. His markings had been altered. There was another horse in the barn with him and I am wondering if it was stolen too. I will know more about that one tomorrow. Two owners of other stolen warmbloods have been contacted. The lady who took the horse is in custody, I think. You know how that goes though. The woman could be out of jail by now. The owners, who reside in Virginia are very happy and would like to thank all those who were involved in the search for San Diego. Thank you all for your help!!! Pass this on to your friends on the net and let them know the good news. Debi Metcalfe Horse Theft Education Starts Here Stolen Horse International www.netposse.com

My boss who is another horsie freak (and mule lover) just told me that they altered the horses with rustoleum paint and the legs of the horses are blistered and infected... and this lady was a vet ZenRider.... they are wacked.

Yeah, I heard that too. Didn't know her well, all ready had a Vet when she came back to the area to practice. That's incredibly stupid and then some. She was even one of the Vets working the Georgia Olympics, if you can believe it. Gotta wonder what was going on with her life to even make her think she could get away with something like that. Unreal.
That other link I gave got cut off. hehehe, but will try to find more info. My saddle club meets tomorrow night, and I can always stop at the barn the expensive one was stolen from sometime this week. I know some people that board there and I'll bet everyone there is just thrilled.

Just gets weirder and weirder. Apparently she is on suicide watch now because she stuck her head in a toilet.?! Oh and she also stole a horse trailer and two saddles. Good news is, the Illinois horses are probably already on their way home. Some information I just found out tonight at my saddle club meeting. This woman tried to cause trouble for my saddle club some years ago. Writing an enflamed article about how she was at a trailer accident involving a horse and the horse died because she was unable to get the rescue sling my saddle club bought. We have a phone tree with the Sheriff's office in order to make the sling available at a moments notice and the people that can respond with it that know how to use it properly and quickly. The Sheriff's office never received a phone call on the night in question. It was felt that she was trying to get control of the sling we bought so she could have it for her own use. Or perhaps she wanted credit for what my saddleclub had already done? Don't know, all I know is people involved thought it was just a weird experience with her. Guess she even sent an article she wrote on the event to the Sentinal, a equine newspaper put out by Libertyville Saddleshop, about her version of events, which fortunately they checked out first, resulting in it not be published. Just too weird.

No kidding, murdered roommate? Eeek! Doesn't sound like she was that good or honest of a Vet either. Yeah, I heard some of that at the barn today. Tooo strange. Not sure she's gonna go to jail, more likely somewhere padded I think. :loon: It was a good move on the judges part not to let her out on bail at this time. I think she would have tried to run. Though where she'd go, I do not know. Think they'll make a movie? :loon:

It sounds like she tried to hide with the name change before... too weird.... Been meaning to ask, how is Zen doing?

Yeah, Zen, did the vet come today?
I won't even comment on the horse thief thing...it's just unreal that a VET would do that.

When does it stop? Where does it end. A friend of mine remembers her now, the name change had thrown her off too. She says she was flakey back then too. www.gopbi.com/partners/pbpost/epaper/editions/thursday/local_news_e3664d3c00fbe03800fc.htmlZen's fine, still lame. Not horrible, he'll try to run about, but then gets that look and picks up that foot like, D :curse: that hurts. Since I didn't say it was an emergency, I think that's why he didn't get back to me today. He's usually good about that, but I didn't exactly say it was an emergency. I'm going to call him first thing in the morning, he's usually in his office then. Not always, but best chance I've got. Otherwise, I'll bug one of his assistants tomorrow. She boards her horse next to mine, so he can't escape me. hehehe
