My shoulder has been hurting for so long I finally went to the doctor who promptly referred me for PT. At our first session I tried some very simple exercises and discovered just how weak that shoulder has become. But I'm going to do all the work they give me and plan to end up stronger and more comfortable than before I tweaked this thing! Anyone else had shoulder injuries?

Yep, I had tendinitis in my shoulder. I took forever to heel, and flares up every now and then. It sure was hard to sleep w/ that shoulder. I loved the deep heat of pt!

good luck.
I tried to grab a galloping horse that was loose(I know stupid) and hurt mine. Iced it, put heat on it, it would start feeling better than hurt again. After two months after I hurt it I went to the doctor, and he gave me exercises and celbrex(which made me sick) I did the exercises which helped for awhile but it still flaired up.
A couple weeks ago I got thrown from my daughters QH and banged up the same shoulder..... (and my bootie)
Must have knocked whatever back in because although very stiff when I swim, there is no more pain.
Want to come over and ride? :-)

Want to come over and ride? :-) No thanks! Those Quarter Horses can BUCK! I've learned how to stay on my mare's drop-and-swerve moves, but she's never offered a serious buck. I'd be airborne in no time. Y'all are not offering me much hope here. I'm gonna get better because I just don't want to feel like this. I'll let you know how that goes.

Ann, I had surgery on my left shoulder in '05. It had 3 spurs in the joint that were shredding the tendon plus the end of my collar bone at the joint was inflamed. I was referred to an Orthopaedic DR who did the surgery. After 6 weeks in an immobilization sling I went for 4 weeks of PT. I do not have anywhere near the pain I was in before the surgery. There is hope for your shoulder.

Ann,
I had burcitis and tendonitis in my shoulder--no specific event caused it. I had the PT ultrasound and deep heat. I had the cortisone shot directly into the shoulder and it helped a lot too. But it doesn't last more than a couple weeks.
You are not going to want to hear this but, it wasn't until after I started taking prednisone, a must for transplant patients, that the shoulder pain went away. A side benefit from all the anti-rejection drugs I take.

Michael had great results doing PT for his shoulder. He was good about doing his rubber band stuff at home too.
I've got a depo transcript where a old farmer talks about his shoulder injury. I kept the transcript because it's a capsule of language and life that will dissapear here in Utah. He is being deposed by a Chicago city lawyer. It's the best read ever! This guy's attorney is young and this farmer has the best time messing with both of them. Anyway, just for fun and distraction from your poor shoulder, here is an excerpt.
Witness: "Yea. He told me that if I had a colt to play with or something that I could be breaking the lead that would jerk that lose. He said, we're going to cut it loose if you don't tear is loose anyhow. Said it would be good for it. So, I went and bought a wild horse. It wasn't good enough to break him with the lead. I saddled him up and got on him, and he keeled over backwards. When I woke up he was laying on top of me. Q. "This is the doctor's advise?"
A. "Yes"
Q. "Go get a wild horse?"
A. "That's the best wild horse I ever owned, fellow".
Atty for defendant: "Welcome to the basin." (referinig to a place in Utah.)
Witness: "The part you can't believe is when I got up I could do anything again" . . . . . "We just cancelled the appointment for surgery."
So there you have it! Go get yourself a wild horse or sit on that quarter horse ;D
O.K. one more part just to give you flavor of this wonderful old farmer.
A. " I never had any problems with my shoulders in my life until the day that trench caved in."
Q. "What about your knees? How are your knees? Are you knees okay?"
A. "You get a little sore from praying once in a while, but other than that they are all right."
Q. How much do you sleep a day?
A. Four hours.
Q. You work almost as hard as attorneys do.
A. You don't know what the word means. --Classic! I loved working on this case. This guy was the best.

Luci I love it! Shoulder injuries stink but I bet the PT will help a lot! Just be prepared that it may take some off again/on again sessions to get it all better they take a lot of time to heal.
